The Multiplier Event was embedded in a part of a series of events of the Styrian Start-up Festival 2018, a Styrian-wide initiative to support entrepreneurship. Within this framework, we were able to combine our multiplier event with one of these events and create perfect synergies: stakeholders from the Styrian start-up scene, the female founders and players (incubators, accellarators…) founders and start-uppers together with other interested people in the entrepreneurship topic like young students intending to found their own company in the near future. It was very important for us to have a good cross section of stakeholders and multipliers at our event.
More than 50 people attended our event. The mixed profile of the participants will guarantee the spreading and exploitation of the deliverables and outcomes of the project in the very best way. The event atmosphere was very relaxed due to the arrangement of bar tables in a seminar room and the simultaneous possibility of networking with the attending participants as part of a brunch. The idea behind this was to establish a kind of "pitch-tables" on which the participants were grouped into different topics (female founders, project partners of other entrepreneurship projects, teaching and research in the field of entrepreneurship at the FH) and could thus introduce themselves to other participants and getting into contact in a very easy way.
The event was opened by Professor Friedl, who gave a short introduction and overview of our FH JOANNEUM entrepreneurship program in projects and learning & teaching. Afterwards, Ms. Kienberger’s presentation focused on the the empowerWOMENt project by giving an overview of the work that has been done over the last two years and completed the first part with the screening of “women’s voices” film about women entrepreneurs who were interviewed to talk about their motivations, difficulties and personal experiences as part of their self-employment.
The video was produced on the occasion of a workshop week in Rome with the female entrepreneurs present from all project partner countries.
In the second part of her lecture, Ms. Kienberger gave an insight into the individual outputs (so-called intellectual outputs), which were developed together with all project partners. It was all about giving the stakeholders and listeners an idea of how they worked. The approach in this project was primarily not an academic, but female entrepreneurs should be given tools, on an equal footing, from female entrepreneur to female entrepreneur. Every output was presented and the contents were briefly explained. Participants were kindly invited to download the different final outputs from the project website. They will finally be available in all partner languages. Special attention was given to the virtual platform. The participants were introduced to the most important features and present female entrepreneurs were invited to register (http://empowerwoment.eu/de/home/start-up) telling their entrepreneurial story and into contact with other women entrepreneurs without complications and bureaucracy.
After the presentations the participants had the possibility to express their opinions and impressions about the developed outputs and giving feedback directly or in individual talks with Ms. Kienberger and Mr. Friedl afterwords.
A poster exhibition of all EU projects dealing with entrepreneurship & social & intrapreneurship rounded off the multiplier event.
